My Celtic knot rings are named for three Early Medieval Illuminated Manuscripts ..... The Book of Durrow ca. 5th century A.D., The Book of Kells ca. 6th century A.D., and the Lindisfarne Gospel ca. 7th century A.D. These sacred texts are the most famous of the very few surviving examples of Early Celtic Christian ornamentation. The knotwork patterns found in theses codices directly inspired the patterns I created for my Celtic knot rings.
