I have named my Torc ring designs for the places where torc neckrings and armbands have been found in Viking Age hoards, in and around the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.  The Torc was a collar or bracelet made of a twisted strand of gold, silver or bronze, often used to indicate the status of its owner.
